Creating a Calm, Supportive Environment
We have worked hard to make sure our office is a safe space for all of our patients. It is a quiet, sensory-friendly space to help reduce anxiety, with quiet rooms available to help your children feel calm if noise bothers them and TVs mounted on the ceiling to offer a little extra distraction, in the form of your child’s favorite show. Does your child have trouble with bright lights? To help them out, we have sunglasses just for them, or we can dim the lights so they feel more comfortable.
The decor in our office isn’t the only way we keep the place calm. Throughout the appointment, you can expect gentle communication and step-by-step explanations. Sometimes this involves changing the way we speak so our voices are at the appropriate level for each child. For many children, and their parents, this small change can help them feel a little safer by making sure they know what to expect every step of the way.
Specialized Training and Team Approach
The staff at We Make Kids Smile is highly trained to help children deal with any dental problems related to their special needs, but that’s not where the training ends. They also have experience working with children who have developmental, sensory, or behavioral differences. But we don’t rely solely on the training to get things done. We firmly believe that we can’t accomplish anything without the help of the parents. We collaborate with you, the parent, and their healthcare providers so we can truly understand each child’s unique needs.
Tailored Treatment Plans
We Make Kids Smile uses a patient-centered approach so that each and every one of our patients gets the individualized care they deserve. We adjust the approach and treatment plans to fit their comfort level, communication style, and medical history. This goes a long way toward helping a child feel safer in our office, and that’s exactly how it should be.
Sometimes, children need a little extra time. It may take longer to explain things to them, or we want to make sure they have the time to grow comfortable around the staff and the dental equipment. Regardless of the reason, we keep our scheduling flexible so that we can spend that extra time with our little patients as needed without causing any extra stress.

Each dental visit counts more than many people realize. One positive experience builds upon the next, and so on. During each visit, we focus on familiarity, praise, and patience to assure your child has the best experience possible.
