Planning Hospital Visits
WHAT TO EXPECT
We Make Kids Smile works very closely with parents when it comes to planning children’s hospital visits. Our office coordinator will organize the schedule with you and the hospital. They will also coordinate with your insurance to give you an estimate for your child’s in-hospital treatment costs prior to their appointment.
It is our policy that all patients must obtain a physical from their primary care provider prior to their hospital treatment. Our team will provide you with further information well in advance of your child’s scheduled treatment date so you can arrange this.
Our office coordinator will also provide you with final detailed instructions before your child’s treatment date.
Duration of Hospital Stays
HOW LONG YOUR CHILD WILL BE IN THE HOSPITAL
Our hospital-based dental services are outpatient, same-day procedures. Your child will not be admitted and can return home with you once treatment is complete. This enables kids to recover in the comfort of their own homes with loved ones and normal routines.
The actual length of your child’s appointment will depend on the complexity of the treatment they are having. Our team will be able to give you an estimate before the scheduled date so you can plan your family’s schedule.
At-Home Aftercare
SUPPORTING YOUR CHILD’S POST-PROCEDURE HEALING
After your child’s procedure, you’ll receive detailed aftercare instructions from the anesthesiologist at the hospital. You will also receive specific instructions based on your child’s individual needs.
Our team will call you the day after your child’s hospital visit to see how they are feeling and to check in on their healing progress. You are also always welcome to call us at any time with concerns about your child’s healing and recovery.
